Updates: Lexus LFA Nürburgring Performance Package Officially Announced

Lexus has announced a Nürburgring package for its new LFA supercar. The name was given in festivity of Lexus entering once again the car in the Nürburgring 24 Hours race. Formerly, the limited edition of LFA supercar was announced in Japan as the simply put, "Special Edition." The pack is limited to 50 examples and targets potential buyers interested in an doubly hardcore track driving experience.
New aerodynamic components counting a larger front spoiler, side canard air foils and a new fixed rear wing have been added to boost downforce and improve handling.
The power is also on the up. From the standard 4.8-litre V10 with 412 kW (553 BHP / 560 PS) comes a new power figure of 419 kW (562 BHP / 570 PS) and reduced gearshift times and the performance times are also down; 0 to 62mph flashes by in 3.7 seconds and top speed is 325 km/h.

It also uses a billet crankshaft that has a longer stroke. The front brakes consist of six-piston Aluminum block calipers and the back uses the same aluminum block calipers that has four pistons.Other features can be used by RDSport M3 owners everywhere to further enhance their car. General Motors (GM) will unveil its latest concept car EN-V or Electric Networked car at the forthcoming Shanghai Pudong Expo in China on May 01. General Motor China and its Chinese partner SAIC will unveil the new concept car together to spot a new presence as supplier of non-polluting cars. These cars have been specifically designed for the new congested mega-cities of the future that face severe problems like pollution, traffic jams, urbane traffic and increased fuel prices.
The car is still in its nascent stages and is not expected to hit the market even in next 10 to 20 years. The new car will be capable of commuting with other cars to keep away from congestion and accidents in urban traffic. "In the EN-V we’re really showing a new concept, for not just electrified vehicles but a reinvented vehicle experience for mega cities," said Mr. Alan Taub, General Motors vice president for global research and development.
According to General Motors, the car will be available as 3 variants that can go up to 40 Km in a single charge. The new EN-V comes as a GM’s effort to reposition itself as car maker with eco-friendly cars.

Audi has released a new promo video for the overwhelming RS5.
Boasting a 4.2-liter V8 with 331 kW (444 hp / 450 PS) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque, the RS5 rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and tops out at an electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph). If that isn't fast enough, Audi can take away the speed limiter to enable the car to hit 280 km/h (174 mph). Not bad considering the Audi RS5 only consumes 10.8 liters of petrol for each 100 km (21.78 US mpg).
To keep the beast in control, Audi installed a new crown-gear center differential. It "can widely vary the distribution of torque among the front and rear axles. If required, up to 70 % can flow to the front or as much as 85 % to the tail end."
The Audi RS5 will go on sale in Germany this spring, with a base price of approximately €77,700 ($103,870 USD). Unluckily, Audi has been mum on U.S. availability but it doesn't look promising.

In the typical car, mini-van or SUV, proper engine temperature control is critical to performance, gas mileage and - most important to car owners - heat.
If you hold your fingers above the defrost vents with the temperature set on high, as a general rule, you can not leave your fingers there for very long without them getting pretty uncomfortable if the heating system is working well.
We usually check the heat output at the center vent; a good heater will put out 150 degree temps.
We have seen them run as high as 160°f. At 130°f degrees you may start getting a few complaints, though it’s still pretty livable, at 120°f people are getting unhappy, the coats are staying on and below 110°f NO ONE is happy.
Engineers spend a lot of time figuring out what temperature creates conditions for optimal combustion energy and get the cold engine to that temperature as quickly as possible. Optimum combustion squeezes the most btu's out of each squirt of gasoline at the lowest pollution levels. Burn gasoline and get heat. Combustion and the heat it generates must be contained. Metals surrounding the combustion absorb and transfer the heat to the cooling system liquid (antifreeze) which is the same liquid that runs through the little radiator in your dashboard which the fan transfers to your cold tootsies. So, if your vehicle's thermostat is fading or failed, the impact is much broader than just cold toes.

BMW has unveiled the race bred version of its BMW Z4 Roadster, meant to arrive in the hands of private teams which will employ them in various motorsport competitions around the globe.
The BMW Z4 GT3 racer replaces the standard 6-cylinder engine for a 4.0-litre V8 engine with a lot more grunt, like the one found in the BMW M3 GT2 racer.
The 357kW or so available to the driver is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox with a “Quick Shift” function.
Complimenting the beefed up power plant is a raft of mechanical upgrades counting a roll cage, aggressive front and rear spoilers, and several panels finished in light weight carbon fibre reinforced plastics.This has helped to shed the overall weight of the car to just 1,200kg, though this hasn’t helped the price which stands at over $400,000.
